How to update the plugin

Keep the Mercado Pago for WooCommerce plugin up to date to access the latest features and ensure the security and operation of the integration. You can update it manually or enable automatic updates from the WordPress dashboard.

Before updating the plugin, create a complete backup of the store, including its files and database. Whenever possible, validate the new version in a test environment before applying it to the production store.

After preparing the backup and test environment, follow one of the procedures below.

Update the plugin manually

After updating, verify the installed version and make a test purchase to confirm that the payment methods continue to work correctly.

After validating the integration, you can activate automatic updates to receive future versions without manual intervention.

Activate automatic updates

When automatic updates are active, WordPress will send an email to the administrator after each update, whether it succeeds or fails.
With automatic updates active, WordPress will install new versions directly on the production store, without prior validation in a test environment. Keep periodic store backups and monitor the store after each update to quickly catch any unexpected behavior.
