
Unified card and customer management in Checkout API
We have unified the management of payments with saved cards into a new centralized section: Save cards. This update replaces the previous “Card and customer management” documentation and simplifies the implementation of recurring purchase flows, with secure storage and reuse of tokenized data.
The new structure centralizes customer and card configuration into a single flow, reducing integration complexity. The documentation is available for Checkout API via Payments (integration through SDKs or APIs) and for Checkout API via Orders (integration exclusively via API).
Using tokenized data through the Mercado Pago API avoids resending sensitive information, reduces checkout friction, and speeds up future transactions.
With this relaunch, we also introduce the Addresses API, which allows you to retrieve, update, and delete customers’ saved addresses directly.
